welcome to the end of the world! At least, if the Mayan calendar prophecies are correct. I bet the band R.E.M. is enjoying this day, for surely their hit song will be played quite often today (R.E.M. authored It’s the End of the World as We Know It.). Fortunately, we serve the one who knows when all things will end, and He has told us in His word to always be expecting His return, which will bring about the end of the world as we know it. So today pray with me that Jesus will be preached mightily this weekend and that those who hear the message will place faith in Him.
Travis is in a very important meeting right now that could affect the direction of our church. Please pray it goes well.
God is definitely at work in Woodbury, and He is using Lakeview to make a difference. I believe He is leading us to launch a fully interactive, fully engaging, fully evangelistic website that includes online services (not just online sermons). I have literally been up all night, unable to sleep, as God has placed a burden on me to pray for this work, and to ask Him to show me how He plans to use Lakeview to reach this community. Before scoffing at the idea of internet church, let me share with you some information God recently brought to my attention. One of the largest area churches reported that they averaged more people ‘attending’ their services through their online services than those who attended their live services. This is a church that averages over 6000 people on the weekends. Join me in prayer that God would show us how to make this vision of Lakeview a reality (don’t worry, we’re not abandoning the live launch – the goal is to always get people to church in person). I’ll have more to post later today for your prayers and consideration. Thanks!
My apologies for a lack of updates throughout the day. I was tied up in meetings nearly all day today. Continue praying for God to provide the funds we need to get off the ground. Now for some praise: We have a new Bible study starting in January and new commitments to our core team, including a possible void on our ministry team filled. More details to follow in the coming weeks. Thanks for the prayers!
Welcome to the Day of Prayer for Lakeview Church. Start off the day with me by praying for a few meetings I have this morning. The first is a phone call at 9:00. This may be a pivotal moment in our church’s young history, so I ask for wisdom and guidance.
I feel that God has laid it on my heart that tomorrow is to be a day of prayer for Lakeview. We have already seen Him accomplish much since starting here, however, there is still much more work to do before Feb 10. This is a God-sized task, that only He can accomplish. Join me in prayer tomorrow as often as God brings our ministry to your mind. I will be posting multiple prayer requests throughout the day to guide you on your prayers. Thanks!
2012 is quickly coming to a close, and we are just $2000 toward our $50,000 year end goal. Today I ask that you would join me in prayer that God would lay on the hearts of those He has prepared to give to this work. Secondly, pray for wisdom as we look to update our website to be more of a fully interactive online church. Thanks for the prayers!
